Naruemol Chaiwai declared ICC Women’s Player of the Month for April 2023

In an outstanding display of skill, Thailand batter Naruemol Chaiwai has been crowned the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for April 2023. Chaiwai’s remarkable performances outshone those of Zimbabwe’s Kelis Ndhlovu and UAE’s Kavisha Egodage, earning her the coveted monthly award.

Throughout the ODI series win against Zimbabwe, Chaiwai proved to be the rock of Thailand’s middle order. In a crucial match, she struck two unbeaten half-centuries, including a game-changing 57* that saved her team from a precarious position of 21/4. Her efforts were pivotal in Thailand’s 78-run victory, as Zimbabwe was bowled out for just 76 in reply.

Chaiwai’s performances in the second T20I were equally impressive. Despite a stumble in the first, she returned to her reliable best and made an unbeaten 52* in a successful chase of 113. Her contributions throughout the series were recognized with the Player of the Series award, having also scored 55 runs in the three T20Is and a crucial 29 in the second T20I that helped secure a five-wicket win.
