So 25 January 2023 is all set to reveal the 5 Franchises that will own the 5 teams to participate in the inaugural edition of Women’s IPL. There’s plenty of buzz both online and offline as to who would be these 5 teams.
The cricket players, the fans, and the stakeholders are all excited to see what could be the financial fate of Women’s IPL.
Though there are no limitations on bids for teams. The 17 bidders who eventually showed their interest during the technical bidding held on 23rd January have qualified with an audited net worth of at least INR 1000 crores as of March 31, 2022, in order to even purchase the bid documents.
Also, there are 10 cities that have been shortlisted as home bases. The cities are – Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Indore, Bengaluru, Guwahati, and Dharamsala.
