Indian women’s team cricketer, Rajeshwari Gayakwad’s recent visit to a supermarket in Vijayapura’s Solapur road has made it to the headlines and like one would expect on such personal news making it to the headlines, it isn’t for the best of reasons.
What’s understood is that the cricketer was involved in a heated exchange with a person in charge at the supermarket over the price of a few cosmetics products she went to purchase. After the heated exchange, Rajeshwari when left the mart, a few people associated with the cricketer are understood to have barged into the supermarket and attacked the staff.
Initially, the supermarket staff shared the CCTV footage and were opting to file a police complaint, but eventually, both parties solved the issue appropriately without filing a police complaint against each other.
The 31-year-old, left-arm orthodox bowler, last played a game during the recently concluded, Senior Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy and her last international game dates back to the 15th of October during India’s Final clash against Sri Lanka in the women’s Asia Cup.
