Baroda Women’s cricket team met with an accident, 4 Players and Team Manager injured

Indian domestic cricket season for senior women’s teams got underway on the 11th of October with the 14th edition of the Senior Women’s T20 League. The tournament that sees Railways as the defending champions will comprise a total of 129 games this time around and will have its final played in Bangalore.

Group C team, Baroda Women’s Cricket Team’s bus met with an accident by a lorry and it’s learned that 4 cricketers, including the team manager, sustained injuries. A piece of good news shortly followed which cleared that the injuries aren’t serious and everyone is safe. The news was confirmed via Female Cricket’s Twitter handle.

Baroda got their season underway with their game against Vidarbha on the 11th of October, but suffered a defeat and again against Chhattisgarh, before bagging their win against  Pondicherry. The side then lost to Mumbai and closed out their league-stage games with wins against Bengal and Saurashtra.

The 37 teams that are taking part in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy are divided into 5 groups (detailed below) that’ll see group toppers directly qualified for the quarter-final and the teams finishing 2nd will be ranked 6-10. The top-ranked teams from the remaining teams across groups based on points/wins/net run rate will play the pre-quarter-final.

Teams 6 vs 11, 7 vs 10 and 8 vs 9 will play the pre-quarter-final and winners will then be placed as 6, 7 and 8 teams to play the quarter-final. The League-stage games are scheduled to conclude on the 22nd of October and the knockouts are scheduled to take place from the 30th of October to the 5th of November.
