In a fresh controversy brewing from the recently concluded India women’s tour of England, India’s wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia took to Twitter to express her disappointment over the England Cricket Board’s lack of security at their hotel premises.
Taniya Bhatia claimed that she was robbed during her stay at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale, where team India stayed during their final and 3rd ODI match.

1/2 Shocked and disappointed at Marriot Hotel London Maida Vale management; someone walked into my personal room and stole my bag with cash, cards, watches and jewellery during my recent stay as a part of Indian Women’s Cricket team. @MarriottBonvoy @Marriott. So unsafe.

2/2 Hoping for a quick investigation and resolution of this matter. Such lack of security at @ECB_cricket‘s preferred hotel partner is astounding. Hope they will take cognisance as well.@Marriott @BCCIWomen @BCCI

India recently completed a series whitewash in the ODIs, beating England 3-0 on their home soil. The Final game at Lord’s gathered some uninvited controversy after Deepti Sharma decided to run-out Charlie Dean at the non-striker’s end. Cricket fans and pundits on social media had different opinions to share and this led to a verbal war between the Indian and English supporters.
It was Jhulan Goswami’s last international match that was played at the Lord’s stadium and team India ensured the legend get a fitting farewell in her last game by beating England 3-0 at their own backyard.
