Smriti Mandhana honors Ranchi’s Marwari College on Winning Redbull Campus Cricket 2022

The final match of the Red Bull Campus Cricket was played between Mumbai’s Rizvi College and Ranchi’s Marwari College on June 11 at the PCA (Punjab Cricket Association) Stadium in Mohali. Marwari College won the toss and elected to bat first.

1st innings: Marwari College 125/5 in 20 overs

Riding on Anamika Kumari’s delectable 60 off 54 balls, Marwari College put together a fighting score of 125/5 in 20 overs against Rizvi College. The left-handed opening batter hammered eight boundaries in her innings. She held the innings together and was there in the middle till the 17th over. Kumari and her opening partner Priyanka Sawaiyan (37) stitched a 107-run partnership to lay a solid foundation. On the other hand, Rizvi College’s Mansi Patil and Saniya Raut were the only wicket-takers. Patil claimed 19/3 in four overs and Raut struck with 22/2 in four overs. The duo also bowled a couple of maiden overs each.

2nd innings: Rizvi College 89/6 in 20 overs

Chasing 126 runs in 20 overs, Rizvi College were reduced to 89/6. Right-handed middle-order batter, Sadhvi Sanjay top scored with 26 runs off 40 balls, including one boundary. Opening batter Mansi Patil too made a useful contribution of 24 runs from 28 balls, including four boundaries. However, Sanjay and Patil did not receive any support from the rest of the batters. Priyanka Sawaiyan, who had a good outing with the bat, continued to impress with the ball, as she wreaked havoc with 9/3 in three overs. Deyani Prasad and Monika Murmu were the other wicket-takers who scalped 12/2 in four overs and 4/1 in three overs.

Ranchi’s Marwari College beat Mumbai’s Rizvi College by 36 runs to win the Red Bull Campus Cricket tournament.
