Smriti Mandhana reached a major milestone on Tuesday against Bangladesh as she completed 5000 runs in international cricket. Mandhana who’s been representing team India since 2013 has become one of India’s key players today.
The 25-year-old has been excellent in ODIs scoring 2717 runs. In 70 ODIs, Mandhana has managed 5 centuries and 21 half-centuries at an average of 41.8. She has scored 646 runs against England, 431 runs against Australia, and 411 runs against New Zealand. She also has a great T20 record as she has scored 1971 runs in 82 T20 innings at a strike rate of 120.84 anchoring most of the matches. She has 14 fifties in T20s as well.

In her 7 year career, Mandhana has played 4 test matches scoring 325 runs. She has managed one century and 2 fifties in her 7 test match innings.
Mandhana has won the Rachael Hayhoe – Flint Award for the Best Women’s Cricketer of the Year in 2018 and 2021 for her exceptional batting performances. Many experts considered her as one of the finest players in women’s cricket history. With her best years ahead, we can expect that Mandhana will be having a major impact on team India’s performance in the coming years.

Currently, in the 2022 WC, Mandhana has been on and off with the bat scoring 256 runs in 6 matches. She scored a fine of 123 against the West Indies and a 52 against Pakistan. But, in the rest of the 4 matches, she has failed to score big runs after getting good starts.
With team India having high chances of making it to the semi-final, the management will be hoping to see Mandhana score big runs in the upcoming games.
