Female Cricket Campaigns “ABKhelegiIndia” to Celebrate India’s Journey in World Cup

The 12th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup gets underway from March 4 in New Zealand and the finals will be played on April 3. Over the one month, eight teams will lock horns against each other in a round-robin format and only the top four will qualify for the knock-outs. Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and West Indies will participate in this marquee event.

Reaching two finals in the last two ICC events, all eyes will be on team India. Runners-up in the 2017 World Cup and 2020 World T20, the Mithali Raj-led Indian team would want to get it right this time. Alongside Raj, the world’s leading wicket-taker in women’s cricket across formats, Jhulan Goswami will probably feature in her last World Cup. There is seldom any doubt that the Indian team and of course the millions of fans of Women in Blue will be praying to make this World Cup a memorable swansong for the two legends of Indian cricket.

In a promotional video “ABKhelegiIndia” created by Female Cricket, that was dedicated to the Indian women’s cricket team, young cricketers came together to wish all the very best to Women in Blue for the upcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup.

It is quite evident that everybody is excited about the ICC event and the budding cricketers and super enthusiastic fans of women’s cricket will be setting their alarm clocks to catch all the live matches, which either start at 3.30 am IST or 6.30 am IST. Over the next one month, they are ready to sacrifice their sleep, just to catch their favorite players, including Mithali Raj, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Poonam Yadav, just to name a few, fighting it out for the coveted championship.

The two biggest servants of the Indian women’s cricket, Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami are towards the business end of their journeys and over their respective illustrious careers, they have shattered umpteen records. However, the one thing that has eluded these two legends is the all-important World Cup. Can this year be the one that the duo will cherish forever? As ardent fans of Indian women’s cricket, all we can do is simply come together and collectively ask the script Gods to create history.
