T20 specialist Elyse Villani is all set to join the Australian squad for three match T20 Ashes series

Explosive Aussie batter Elyse Villani is eager to make an impact in the T20 leg of Women’s Ashes. Villani made 71runs in just 46balls for Australia A in the last T20 against the England Academy to help her team register a narrow five run win in the end.

Villani told Cricket Australia correspondent that she was quite excited about getting into the T20s. It’s always a massive challenge playing there in front of their home crowd, but the girls have been in outstanding form leading into this first T20 so hopefully we can continue that”, she said.

Talking about her run with Australia A team, she said, “It’s always disappointing when you miss out on the first XI but to have the Australia A girls around and having the opportunity to go and play with some amazing people and some great coaches as well, that was something I really enjoyed”. “It was nice to get a few runs on the board. I think having the Australia A tour happening at the same time as our tour means it is a bit of an advantage for us, because playing time is absolute gold”, she added.

Revealing the Aussies prospective for the rest of the Ashes, she said that there job is still undone because they as a team aspire to win the Ashes rather than just retain the cup.
