With the sole Test match of the multi-format Ashes being round the corner, Aussies Coach Matthew Mott feels that training smartly and prioritizing quality over quantity will be the key for his team as they play red-ball cricket only once in two years.
He said that the test match is going to be very important for quite a few players as they aim to show the level of patience and maturity in their game. Mott admitted that after an emphatic win over England A team in the practice match, it has become quite challenging to pick the final Playing XI for the actual match. He further said that with two years gap between two Tests they play, the selection ultimately becomes a guessing game and that they will take the final call on the match day itself. He said that picking up according to the momentum of the game and adjusting quickly to the need of the hour were the main positives of the Australian side in the warm-up and they would like to carry on the current form.
