ICC gives out this award every month to recognize and celebrate the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all formats of the game.

The Scottish player Kathryn Bryce was a deserving winner of this award this month as she became the first Scottish player-male or female- to break into the top 10 of batting or bowling lists of the ICC Player Rankings. She is currently at the 10th spot of the ICC T20I batter ranking. She climbed 9 spots to get to 10th place.

Last month, Scotland played Ireland in a 4 T20 International series, Scotland lost the series by 3-1 but it turned out to be a life-changing series for Bryce. She scored 96 runs and took 5 wickets with an economy of 4.76. She was the highest run-getter from her team.

Commenting on Kathryn’s performance in May, Ramiz Raja representing the ICC Voting Academy said: “Kathryn’s all-round game came through in a series that her team lost. She batted with flair and bowled well too and deserved to be the player of the month for May.”
