Three Women Cricketers bag honours in Indian Cricket Heroes Awards 2019

The inaugural edition of the Indian Cricket Heroes was held at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on 23rd of May and telecasted on Star Sports network on May 29th. The likes of Smriti Mandhana and Poonam Yadav were among the awardees of the maiden edition of the event.

Indian Women’s team player, Radha Yadav was named the Emerging Cricketer of the Year (Female) while Poonam Yadav (who has also been recommended for Arjun Award by BCCI) was named the bowler of the year (Female). Star batter, Smriti Mandhana was named the batter of the year (female) due to her quality show with the willow throughout the year (2018).

Indian Cricket Heroes is a joint initiative by RP Sanjiv Goenka Group initiative, Cornerstone and Star Sports and aims to increase the stature of cricket by awarding the Indian cricketers across both Indian national Men’s team and Women’s team.

Former Cricketer Anjum Chopra was the member of the jury committee co-chaired by Sanjiv Goenka and former Indian captain Kapil Dev.
