Southern Stars’ skipper Meg Lanning believes that India would be great at playing Test matches

Australia captain Meg Lanning expressed her desire to play Test matches more often and she hopes that the proliferation of top-level women’s cricket includes more of regular Test cricket. Speaking in a program on radio, Lanning expressed her disappointment that at this moment, only Australia and England are playing Test cricket against each other that too after every two years.

She feels that the continued scarcity of Test cricket is one area that needs to be addressed and believes that involvement of India is the key to any potential shift on this front. She said that India’s involvement can make a huge difference because it has got such a big influence on anything and everything related to cricket.

Lanning also pointed out that irregularity in scheduling of Test format matches poses additional challenges for them as players as they play so much short-format cricket that it takes some time  to prepare themselves for a Test match.
