Ellyse Perry is the Sydney Sixers’ WBBL Player of the Tournament

Sydney Sixers gave away this year’s WBBL Player of the Tournament award to none other than mighty Ellyse Perry. The all-rounder had a record breaking session in WBBL04 making 777 runs and taking 10 wickets.

Besides this, she also showed up her brilliant sense of anticipation in fielding taking nine catches. Perry broke the record for most runs in a season (in just 12 innings) set by her national team’s captain Meg Lanning as latter had made 560 runs in 14 innings in WBBL01. The all-rounder struck two centuries and six half-centuries in a near perfect season in this year’s edition of Rebel WBBL.

Other nominees were –

  • Alyssa Healy (445 runs, highest score 112* and 17 dismissals)
  • Dane van Niekerk (19 wickets, economy rate 6.70, runs 174)
  • Erin Burns (11 wickets, economy 6. 53, runs 250)

Well, a well-deserved win for Perry as she led her team to a number of wins and took Sydney Sixers to WBBL04 finals.
