Annabel Sutherland’s Century goes in vain as Skye Bowden goes for maximum in last-ball thriller

Annabel Sutherland smashed a 117-ball 103 but her century went in vain as New Zealand Development claimed an easy win by two-wickets against Australia U-19 in Lincoln.

Australia won the toss and chose to bat first. Australia managed to put up a huge total of 248 on board where a century from all-rounder Annabel Sutherland made the foundation.

Phoebe Litchfield (31), Josie Dooley (30) and Hannah Darlington (22) also played some handy innings and helped Australia to put up the total.

While chasing, New Zealand Development needed a strong start where Lauren Down played a crucial knock of 82. Later, Australia bowlers picked up three wickets including Down in a quick succession.

With 7 runs needed in the last over, Charlie Knott conceded one run and picked up two wickets off the first three balls. Skye Bowden hit a maximum in the fourth ball and registered a two-wicket win for her team.
