Shabnim Ismail, Marizanne Kapp move up the ICC Rankings after Successful Pakistan tour

South African duo of Shabnim Ismail and Marizanne Kapp, along with other players, have made a significant upward climb in the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings.

Ismail, a nominee of the ICC Player of the Month award, has overtaken Megan Schutt to second place in the rankings. She finished with seven wickets in the T20Is which includes a 5-wicket haul. Kapp, the second nominee for the category, has also gained 14 slots to reach the 32nd position in the bowler’s rankings after taking four wickets in the series.

Among batters, Laura Wolvaardt- up one place to 28th and Tazmin Brits- up 52 places to 37th, have achieved career-best rankings respectively. Skipper Sune Luus has gained two slots to advance to the 43rd position.

Coming to Pakistan’s batters, Ayesha Naseem and Kainat Imtiaz have attained their career-best rankings. Naseem has moved a mind-boggling 707 slots to reach 105th position on the back of her 66 runs in the series while Imtiaz has climbed up 161 places to get to the 130th place with 79 runs under her belt in the series.

On the bowling front, left-arm spinner Anam Amin has re-entered the top 10 by gaining seven slots. She was the most successful bowler in her team with four wickets in the series. Aiman Anwer has moved up to the 54th place following her three wickets in the series.

When it comes to the team rankings, both the teams have retained their earlier rankings- South Africa at fifth and Pakistan at seventh.
