Malaysia has recently played ASEAN open tournament and it has retained seven players from that team who will be part of Asia Cup. From the statistics of the ASEAN tournament, it may be inferred that it’s a “Bowlers specialist team”. While not much had been done by the batters of this team, three of its bowlers have been very economical throughout the series. Out of these three, two have found place in the team for Asia Cup. They are, namely :-
1. Ainna Hamizah
2. Captain Winifred Duraisingam
Bowler Ainna Hamizah bowled consistently economical in all the matches in the recently concluded multi-channel tournament.
Captain Winifred is not only an economical bowler but can play a role of middle order batter too.
The familiarity with the pitch and playground gives an added home advantage to Malaysia.

As far as Indian contingent is concerned, we all know the big names in the team. Also, we had given a detailed list of Indian squad for Asia Cup in the previous write-up. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led team is in red hot form and fully prepared for the challenge. Smriti Mandhana, Mithali Raj and Jemimah Rodrigues are the players to watch out for.

The most interesting fact is that Malaysia is making it’s Asia Cup debut and has never played any T-20 against India before this. As it is said, “Cricket is a game of uncertainties”; we are looking forward towards a unpredictable game. The only known fact is that India is quite a strong T-20 team with a lot of experience and current Asia Cup champions too.
Also, India is going to play against a new yet talented bunch of players. Still, India Women are the clear favorites as we get ready closely follow the on-field action when the match begins today at 4:30 pm.
