She has now established herself in the eternal books as Taylor becomes the first Windies player to score 3,000 runs in the international stage while playing the shortest format of the game. While Windies were, chasing a healthy total against England in the second ODI of the in-progress T20 series, Taylor stood in her 103rd T20 International inning. She gathered 28 on the board and now sits comfortably as one of the best women to have played the game with 3020 runs against her name.

Her average in these 103 innings has been extraordinary too. 36 runs per innings is a sign of pure dominance as per the cricketing standards of our times. In the ODIs, she has around 4700 runs in her bag at an average of around 44. Taylor has recently been congratulated by Cricket West Indies.

Jimmy Adams who is the director of cricket at the board said that “Congratulations to Stafanie from all at CWI, and indeed the wider Caribbean, on achieving this outstanding milestone in what is truly a remarkable cricket career. She has set the benchmark for women’s cricket and continues to demonstrate why she is rated as one of the greats of the game.

“She continues to be an ambassador for women’s sports and for the game of cricket in the West Indies. Given her youth and undoubted ability, we continue to wish her all the success possible in the years ahead”.

Taylor can be the player that takes the Women Cricket to the masses. Windies cricket, irrespective of gender, is in dire need of new heroes to regain its lost ground in the world cricket. Taylor has been effective and importantly consistent in her outings. Her growth can be significant for the game in the islands. She has made her mark in history and it is the right time for her to channelize her ability to fill the void of trophy for women in maroon.
