The Guyana-based franchise has retained Stafanie Taylor, the former West Indies national team captain. In her 9 WCPL appearances, Taylor has scored 161 runs at an average of nearly 27, with a strike rate close to 103. As the Guyana Amazon Warriors aim to secure their maiden WCPL title, Taylor’s experience and leadership will be crucial to their campaign.

The Amazon Warriors have also retained several key West Indian players, including Karishma Ramharack, Shemaine Campbelle, and Nyia Latchman. Off-spinner Karishma Ramharack has been a standout performer in previous WCPL seasons, having taken 8 wickets at an economy rate of under 7. She continued her good form in the recently concluded T20I series against South Africa, where she picked up 4 wickets.

Shemaine Campbelle, the experienced wicketkeeper-batter, played a crucial role in the decider against South Africa, scoring a match-winning 42 to guide her team to victory. With a WCPL batting average of 26, she is expected to provide stability and anchor the middle order.

The Warriors pulled off a major signing with the addition of Shabnim Ismail, one of the fastest bowlers in women’s cricket. Ismail has been outstanding in the WCPL so far, having already taken 16 wickets, including two four-wicket hauls, while maintaining an impressive economy rate of just 5.11. She is expected to lead the young pace attack and play a crucial role with the new ball this season.

The Warriors have also secured the services of Australia’s Laura Harris. Previously representing the Barbados Royals, Harris brings explosive power to the line-up, boasting an impressive strike rate of nearly 186 in her WCPL career.

Her Australian compatriot, Madeline Penna, a leg-spinning all-rounder, is set to make her WCPL debut this season with the Amazon Warriors. Penna has already made her mark in the WBBL, scoring 949 runs at an average of almost 30 with a strike rate of 115. With the ball, she has taken 13 wickets, underlining her value as a genuine all-rounder.

English batter Lauren Winfield-Hill is also set to rejoin the Guyana-based franchise. She will be looking to draw on her experience to add stability and balance to the top and middle order of the batting line-up.
