Emma joins the Sixers after a stint with Hobart Hurricanes, where she played seven matches. While her opportunities with the Hurricanes were limited, Emma made a name for herself in domestic tournaments like Queensland’s T20 Max, where she finished as the sixth-highest run scorer. Her standout performances included impressive innings of 73 off 56 balls and 46 off 45 balls in crucial games.

As a proud Palawa woman, Emma also brings cultural significance to her role, having represented the Australian Indigenous Women’s Team. Her journey started in grassroots cricket in Tasmania, where she developed her skills at Launceston’s Riverside Cricket Club and the Greater Northern Raiders, eventually breaking into state and national competitions.

One of the highlights of her career came in the 2021–22 Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) Final, where she scored a century that helped Tasmania achieve a historic first-ever WNCL title. Over her WNCL career, Emma has accumulated more than 1,100 runs and made 51 dismissals as a wicketkeeper, combining catches and stumpings. In the shorter format, while her opportunities have been limited to 13 matches, she has shown potential, scoring 81 runs with a top score of 28*.

Her signing provides the Sixers with more than just on-field utility. General Manager Rachael Haynes praised Emma’s talent and character, indicating she will be a valuable addition to the team. Emma herself expressed her excitement about wearing the Magenta jersey, eager to learn from established stars and make a meaningful contribution.

Joining the likes of Alyssa Healy and Kate Pelle in the wicketkeeping role adds depth and flexibility to the squad. The Sixers are set to kick off their campaign against Perth Scorchers in Perth on November 9. Emma’s transition to the Sixers marks a significant step in her career, providing her with a platform to showcase her consistent domestic performance and her experience with the Indigenous team on the national T20 stage.

Renowned in Tasmanian Premier Cricket and state competitions, she has earned accolades as a three-time Kim Fazackerly Medallist and a selection to the CTPL Women’s Team of the Year for her exceptional performances in top-level club cricket. Her signing adds depth, resilience, and a cultural connection to the Sixers as they prepare for WBBL 11. Her journey from Riverside club cricket to state success and now to a prominent franchise reflects her growth and ambition.
