Bridget Patterson inks a multi-year deal with Adelaide Strikers

Bridget Patterson continues her WBBL journey with the Adelaide Strikers as she pens down a multi-year deal ahead of WBBL|09. Bridget Patterson the 29-year-old batter from Kingscote, in South Australia is well-known for her power-hitting skills. Apart from her ability to strike the ball well, she is also regarded as one of the best fielders, especially in the domestic circuit.

She was picked by the Adelaide Strikers in the inaugural edition of the Women’s version of the Big Bash League in the year 2015. She made her WBBL debut against the Hobart Hurricanes on 12th December 2015. Since then she has played over 100 matches (118) for the Adelaide Strikers so far. She has scored 1509 runs at a strike rate of 100.73.

Her tally of runs includes three half-centuries. Her best performance with the bat so far in her WBBL career came against the Perth Scorchers in the year 2019, where she scored 60 runs at a strike rate of 114.19. The 2019 season was also her best season with the bat, scoring 378 runs and ending the season as the third-highest run scorer for the Adelaide Strikers.

Her performances with the bat played a crucial role in helping her side reach the maiden appearance in the WBBL Final. She had a decent season with the bat last time around in 2022 as she scored 216 runs at a strike rate of 114.28. Her experience and contributions with the bat played a vital role in powering the Adelaide Strikers to their maiden WBBL title by beating the Sydney Sixers with a margin of 10 runs. Deandra Dottin was named the Player of the Match in the Final for her brilliant all-round performance.

She is one of the most capped players for the Adelaide Strikers alongside the likes of Amanda-Jade Wellington. She is also placed second on the all-time list of players to play the most number of games in the history of the WBBL. She also holds the record for the most number of catches (52) in the history of the WBBL.
