Players to watch

Amanda-Jade Wellington:

Laura Wolvaardt:

She smashed five boundaries and a six in her entertaining knock. In the process, she stitched a 58-run partnership with captain Tahlia McGrath for the third wicket.

Hannah Darlington:

The right-arm quick of Sydney Thunder was the pick of the bowlers in her last fixture against Melbourne Renegades. She claimed 22/2 in three overs. She was effective with the new ball inside the powerplay. Besides this, she was good toward the back end of the innings. With the bat, she scored 10 off nine.

Pitch

It will be the tournament’s first match at the venue. Expect a hard and new surface that could offer assistance to batters. However, the cloudy conditions could make it challenging for the batters to score freely, as the seamers could get some advantage. Expect an exciting contest between bat and ball, provided there is a complete match.

Weather

The weather is expected to be mostly cloudy and increasingly windy, with occasional rain. The highest temperature attained during the day will be 21 degrees Celsius. There will be a 77 percent cloud cover and an 85 percent chance of rain. The wind will blow from the west-northwest.
