Players to watch out for

Laura Kimmince:

The right-hand middle order bat played a cameo muscling 22 runs off just 11 balls. During her unbeaten innings, she hammered two boundaries and a six. She came in to bat with just three overs left. She made the most of those overs as she scored at a strike rate of 200.

Courtney Sippel:

The right-arm quick was the most successful bowler for Brisbane Heat in their last match against Adelaide Strikers. Taking the new ball from the other end, she claimed 2-22 in her four overs. She sent Dane van Niekerk and Laura Wolvaardt packing in her very first over off two consecutive balls.

Smriti Mandhana:

The stylish southpaw was the player of the match in her last outing against Melbourne Renegades. The opening bat plundered an unbeaten 114 off 64 balls, smashing 14 boundaries and three sixes. She stitched a 125-run partnership with Phoebe Litchfield. She helped her side get to the opposition target closer but failed to cross the line by just four runs.

Samantha Bates:

The left-arm spinner who opened the bowling for Sydney Thunder in her last match against Melbourne Renegades was the pick of the bowlers for her team scalping 2-21 in her four overs. The wily spinner accounted for the key wickets of Jemimah Rodrigues and Evelyn Jones. She got rid of Rodrigues in the first over as she had her caught behind.

Weather

The weather is expected to be clear. The average temperature is expected to be around 23 degrees Celsius. There is 1% chance of precipitation with 9% cloud cover. The wind is expected to blow from the east-southeast.

Pitch

The wicket is good for batting. A high-scoring encounter can be expected. The bowlers will have to bowl disciplined lines and lengths to outwit the batters. The seamers and spinners have been more or less equally effective in the recent matches at the venue.
