The 29-year-old left-handed all-rounder captained for the Central Sparks and was the leading run-scorer in the Charlotte Edwards Cup with 276 runs at an average of 55.2 including three half-centuries in six innings. She was also part of the top order for the Birmingham Phoenix women’s team at this year’s Hundred Women’s tournament and was fourth on the runs tally.

Following this outstanding season at home, Jones will now travel south to Australia to participate in the Weber Women’s Big Bash League|07. She has been signed with the Melbourne Renegades who are all excited to welcome the new talent.

Being a huge fan of the WBBL, Jones expressed her excitement on getting to play in the League, ”I’m absolutely delighted to be playing for the Renegades. Playing in the WBBL is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I’m really excited to have that opportunity. I’ve watched the Big Bash on the TV for a number of years now. It looks like a fantastic competition – it’s a big stage, there’s world-class players and there’s so much support behind it. I can’t wait to meet all the girls and give it a crack.”

The new Renegades Head Coach, Simon Helmot stated, “We’re excited to have Eve joining the Renegades for WBBL|07. She adds to the strength of our batting group, provides a left-arm bowling option, and brings leadership experience. Eve has had an exceptional domestic summer in the UK, where she has performed consistently and compiled an enormous amount of runs. We know she will enter the WBBL full of confidence and hope she can continue that form with the Renegades.”
