Toss – Won by Melbourne Stars Women and elected to bowl first

1st Innings Summary – 67-run opening stand between Sophie Molineux and Danielle Wyatt gave a solid start to Melbourne Renegades. Sophie continued even after Wyatt got out on the last ball of ninth over and together with other batters took her team to a competitive score. Alana King was the most economical bowler for Melbourne Stars and also she took wicket of Ama Satterthwaite, captain of Melbourne Renegades, in her disciplined spell of four overs.

2nd Innings Summary – With 31-3 at the end of five overs, Melbourne Stars miserably failed to execute their plan after winning the toss and choosing to bowl first. The run-rate kept falling and so were the wickets. None of the batters was able to handle the pressure of mounting required run-rate and as a result, they ended up being far behind the target thus ensuring a well-deserved win to the opponents.

Player of the match – Sophie Molineux for 78* which included twelve 4s and bowling well with an economy rate of five runs per over
