Toss – Won by Sydney Sixers Women and elected to bat first

1st Innings Summary – After losing in-form Alysse Healy on fifth ball of fourth over, Sydney Sixers had a 93-run partnership between skipper Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner. But the graph of runs went down sharply after dismissal of both these players in 16th and 17th over respectively. The team’s scoreboard read 130-4 in 17.2 overs and given the kind of strong batting line-up of Sydney Sixers, one could expect at least 20-25 runs added to the final scoreline. But credit must be given to Amanda Wellington, Sarah Coyte and Megan Schutt that only 18 runs were added to the team’s score in the last three overs.

2nd Innings Summary – Captain Suzie Bates led the run chase of Adelaide Strikers and after losing three wickets in quick succession, did a 67-run partnership with Tahlia McGrath to save her team from a batting collapse. But as soon as the partnership broke in 16 th over, Sydney Sixer bowlers came back strongly and took four wickets in last four overs and win this thriller by eight
runs.

Player of the match – Dane van Niekerk for being the scriptwriter of her team’s win firstly by bowling very economical and secondly taking the most important wicket of Adelaide Striker’s set batter Suzie Bates just when it mattered the most. She took two wickets and concede just 12 runs in four overs
