Toss – Won by Perth Scorchers Women and elected to bowl first

1st Innings Summary – Put into bat first, most of the batters of Melbourne Stars got starts but could not convert them into useful contributions as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. On the other hand, five out of seven bowlers of Perth Scorchers conceded runs at an economy rate of less than six runs an over. Hayley Jensen gave 30 runs in her four overs but took two crucial wickets in the death overs including that of Georgia Elwiss. Emma King bowled brilliantly by giving just 12 runs in three overs and taking two wickets too.

2nd Innings Summary – Perth Scorchers’ Skipper Elyse Villani led the team’s chase and remained not out on 52 till the end. After losing second wicket in the 10th over, Villani along with number four batter Heather Graham reached the target successfully without losing any further wicket. Although, Erin Osborne bowled quite effectively but didn’t get any material support from the other end as Melbourne Stars failed to defend a low total.
