1st Innings Summary – Sydney Sixers’ skipper Ellyse Perry is in red hot form in this edition of WBBL as she produced yet another blasting innings of 74 not out while playing against Sydney Thunder Women. Number 4 batter Erin Burns also made 44 runs off just 22 balls which included six 4s and two 6s, which means only eight runs coming from running between the wickets. Dane van Niekerk did the last damage to the opponent by making vital 14 runs on just 7 balls that she faced. Stafanie Taylor was the most successful bowler for Sydney Thunder (3-0-16-2)

2nd Innings Summary – Indian star batter Harmanpreet Kaur was the higgest scorer for Sydney Thunder as she struck four 4s and three 6s in her 45runs innings before getting bowled out by Lauren Cheatle on the first ball of 16th over. Rene Farrell played a quick innings of 33 runs down the order but that was not enough to sail her team to a win. The dismissal of Harmanpreet Kaur at the most crucial stage proved to be fatal for Sydney Thunder as the team could not accelerate the current run rate as per the mounting required run rate.
