Players to watch out for
Jyoti Pandey:
The right handed opening batter starred with the bat as she scored 17 runs off 13 balls, including four boundaries. The wicket-keeper batter set the foundation for Nepal against Uganda in her last match.
Hiranmayee Roy:
The right arm leg spinner from Nepal won the player of the match for her match winning performance of 2-11 in three overs against Uganda in her last appearance. She picked up the key wickets of Uganda’s captain Concy Aweko and vice captain Janet Mbabazi.
Concy Aweko:
The right arm off spinner from Uganda, who is also the captain of the side, was the pick of the bowlers in her last outing against Nepal as she scalped 3-13 in four overs. She bowled well in the middle overs and restricted Nepal’s run flow.
Janet Mbabazi:
The vice captain of Uganda made useful contributions with both bat and ball against Nepal in her last outing. With the bat she top scored with 21 runs off 32 balls and with the ball claimed 1-18 in four overs.
Pitch
The last match that was played at this venue turned out to be a low scoring affair as only 179 runs were scored. The team batting first won the match. A total of 18 wickets fell during the course of the match. The wicket is expected to aid the bowlers, especially the spinners. On the other hand, the batters could have a tough time as the outfield and the pitch have undergone a lot of wear and tear through the course of the tournament.
