The 5th match of the Super Six stages of the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup 2025 between Sri Lanka and Scotland was washed out and as a result, both sides shared a point each. India led by skipper Niki Prasad defeated Bangladesh by 8 wickets in the 6th match of the Super Six stages of the competition in Malaysia.
Bangladesh led by skipper Sumaiya Akter were up against the West Indies led by skipper Samara Ramnath in the 8th game of the Super Six stages of the tournament. We had a delayed start to the game courtesy of rain and wet outfield at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. As a result of a delayed start, the game was reduced to a 13 overs per side contest.

The Bangladeshi bowlers were on a roll, restricting the West Indies to 54/6 in their quota of 13 overs after skipper Sumaiya Akter won the toss and opted to field first at the Bayuemas Oval, Kuala Lumpur. Amrita Ramtahal (16 off 23 balls), Naijanni Cumberbatch (13 off 16 balls), and Asabi Callendar (11 off 16 balls) were the only batters to enter into the double digits with the bat for the West Indies.
Nishita Akter Akter Nishi (3-0-11-3) was exceptional with the ball, Anisa Akter Soba (3-0-13-2), and Jannatul Maoua (2-0-6-1) provided good support with the ball from the other end for Bangladesh.
The Bangladeshi openers Fahomida Choya (14* off 25 balls) and wicket-keeper batter Juairiya Ferdous (25* off 28 balls) cruised through the 55-run target with 10 wickets in hand and 25 balls to spare. Jahzara Claxton (3-0-17-0), and skipper Samara Ramnath (2-0-9-0) were impressive with the ball for the West Indies.
Nishita Akter Nishi was awarded the Player of the Match for her impactful spell of 3-0-11-3 with the ball for Bangladesh, playing a crucial role in helping her side end their campaign in the ongoing 2nd edition of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia on a high.
The rain continued to keep the cricketing action at bay at the Sarawak Cricket Ground, Sarawak. The Group 2 game and the 9th game of the Super Six stages of the tournament between South Africa and the United States of America was washed out due to rain and as a result, both sides shared a point each on the 11th day of the tournament.
