The ninth match of the Hundred Women’s Competition 2022 will be played between Trent Rockets and Oval Invincibles on August 17 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The match will start at 8 PM IST.

This will be the third match of the tournament for both teams. Both the teams have won one and lost one of their respective matches. While Trent Rockets won against Manchester Originals by 43 runs, they lost to Birmingham Phoenix by eight wickets. On the other hand, Oval Invincibles registered a win against Northern Superchargers by nine wickets, they suffered defeat at the hands of Southern Brave by 12 runs.

Elyse Villani:

The right-handed opening batter from Australia was the top run scorer for Trent Rockets in her last match against Birmingham Phoenix. She muscled 33 runs off 25 balls, including five boundaries. In the process, she stitched a 52-run partnership for the second wicket with her captain Natalie Sciver.

Alana King: 

The wily right arm leg spinner from Australia was the pick of the bowlers for Trent Rockets in her last appearance against Birmingham Phoenix. She scalped 18/1 in her full quota of 20 balls. She was also the most economical bowler for her side giving away just 0.9 runs per ball. In her first match, she claimed a hat-trick.

Sophia Smale:

The left arm spinner from Oval Invincibles was the most successful bowler for her team in her last match against Southern Brave. She accounted for 12/2 in her full quota of 20 balls. She was not only the most successful bowler but also the most economical bowler in the team.

Lauren Winfield-Hill: 

The right-handed opening batter of Oval Invincibles starred with the bat as she smashed 25 runs off 19 balls, including four boundaries. She also put together 38 runs for the first wicket with her captain and opening partner Suzie Bates. Apart from this, she also had a good outing behind the stumps claiming two stumpings and as many run outs.

Pitch

This will be the first match of the tournament at this venue. Last year, out of the four matches played as a part of the Women’s Hundred, teams batting first and teams batting second won two matches each. The average first innings score is 132 and the average second innings score is 121. A high scoring contest could be on the cards.
