In the last season, these two teams played against each other once with Southern Brave getting the better of London Spirit by seven wickets. Southern Brave ended up as the runner up in the inaugural edition of the Hundred, on the other hand, London Spirit stood fourth at the end of the league stage.

Players to watch out for

Beth Mooney: 

The left-handed opening batter of Australia, who will play for London Spirit, has been in good form in the recent past having made useful contributions at the top of the order in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games. She is an attacking batter and has the ability to take the game away from the opposition single-handedly.

Amelia Kerr: 

The star all-rounder from New Zealand is a right-handed batter and a right arm leg spinner, who will represent London Spirit. Her ability to contribute almost equally with both bat and ball makes her an asset in any team. She has been playing international cricket since 2016.

Smriti Mandhana:

The stylish southpaw from India is an opening batter, who will play her second season for Southern Brave. She has been blowing in red hot form having struck two consecutive half-centuries in the recently concluded Commonwealth Games. In the last season of the Hundred, she scored 167 runs in seven matches, including the best of 78. 

Tahlia McGrath: 

This Australia all-rounder, who is a right-handed batter and a right arm medium pace bowler will be a part of the Southern Brave. She is a bundle of talent and has been an integral part of the dominant Australian line-up. Apart from her all-round abilities, she is an excellent fielder.

Pitch

This will be the first match of the tournament at this venue. Last year, out of the four matches played as a part of the Women’s Hundred, teams batting first and teams batting second won two matches each. The average first innings score is 124 and the average second innings score is 111. The wicket is expected to be batting friendly.

Weather

The weather is expected to be mostly sunny and very warm. The maximum temperature attained during the day could be 32 degrees Celsius. The expected cloud cover will be 11 percent with just one percent chance of rain. The wind will blow from the south-east.
