Sterre Kalis
The 24-year-old opening batter, averaging 37.42 and striking at 98.28, has amassed 973 runs from 30 T20I appearances, with a century to her name; her highest score reads 126*. Sterre hasn’t played any T20 cricket since her last outing back in September, during the regional qualifier, scoring 96 runs in 2 games. Nonetheless, she can be relied upon for runs.
Iris Zwilling
The 22-year-old all-rounder in T20Is has accumulated 448 runs from 36 innings, while from 46 outings has picked up 48 wickets. In the warm-up games ahead of the global qualifier, while Iris struggled against Sri Lanka, she produced figures of 2/17 (4) in the following game. It’ll be hoped she makes the most of this return to form.
Valenta Langiatu
The 23-year-old opening batter has added 620 runs to the tally from 36 T20Is, including the highest of 87*, while from 11 innings has picked up as many wickets. Valenta on this tour of Abu Dhabi hasn’t found much success just yet; however, she has managed starts of 12 and 13 in her previous couple of games and will be backed to convert them.
Nasimana Navaika
The 28-year-old all-rounder has posted 382 runs on the board from 26 innings and scalped 40 wickets from 31 outings, registering bests of 47* and 4/13. Nasimana wasn’t amongst the wickets in the warm-up games, but come the season opener, she chipped in scoring 21 runs and also produced figures of 4/13. She’ll be banked upon for the goods.
Pitch:
The center wicket at Tolerance Oval is a balanced one that slightly favors the bowlers. While it is conducive for batting, the average score in the 120s suggests greater assistance for bowlers, especially spinners.
