The 26-year-old made her international debut on 7th July 2018 in a T20I against Uganda. She has picked up 20 wickets at a strike rate of 21.3, an average of 18.05, and a brilliant economy of 5.08 in 30 innings. Her best performance with the ball for Scotland in the T20I format came on 12th July 2023 against the Netherlands when she returned with exceptional match figures (4-0-15-3) in her spell. Apart from her exploits with the ball, she also scored 12 runs in 9 innings.
She made her ODI debut on 17th October 2023 against Ireland. In four innings so far, she has picked up 9 at a strike rate of 17.5 at an average of 15.66, and an economy of 5.35. Her best performance with the ball in the format came on 21st October 2023 against Ireland, when she returned with match figures (9-0-41-5) in her spell.
Beyond cricket, Rainey’s leadership skills were evident when she was elected as President of Edinburgh University Cricket Club in 2018, showcasing her multifaceted involvement in the sport. In April 2023, Rainey embarked on a new chapter in her career by joining North West Thunder and signing a professional contract with the team.
