She also overtook Alyssa Healy to become the batter with the most number of sixes (22), in ODIs since 2018.

This streak started back in March 2018 when Indian Women played against Australian Women and Mandhana scored 67 in her innings while chasing.

Out of the total 14 half-centuries in ODIs, Mandhana’s last 10 ODI scores while chasing go as follows:

67 (53) vs Australia
52 (42) vs Australia
86 (109) vs England
53* (67) vs England
73* (76) vs Sri Lanka
105 (104) vs New Zealand
90* (83) vs New Zealand
63 (74) vs England
74 (63) vs West Indies
80* (64) vs South Africa [Today].

During her recent chase, Smriti surpassed New Zealand’s Suzie Bates who had 9 fifty-plus scores while chasing between the years 2015-2017.

Having many other records in her bag, debuting as a captain in international cricket, and becoming the youngest captain for team India at the age of 22 being one of them, Mandhana has added yet another feather to her cap!

In the meantime, India has beaten South Africa in the second ODI by 9 wickets and has leveled the series at 1-1. Both the teams look forward to taking a lead in the next one.
