India Women had a dominant first innings against South Africa Women, scoring 525/4 in 98 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat. Shafali Verma recorded the fastest double century in the women’s test match, she reached the mark in 194 balls. She finished her innings with a brilliant 205 off 197 balls, supported by Smriti Mandhana’s 149 runs, who registered her highest-ever individual total across all formats. Jemimah Rodrigues contributed 55 runs, and captain Harmanpreet Kaur remained unbeaten on 42 alongside Richa Ghosh, who scored 43 not out. South Africa’s bowlers struggled to make breakthroughs, with Delmi Tucker being the most successful, taking 2 wickets for 141 runs in 26 overs.
