Smriti Mandhana broke records in the ongoing India vs South Africa multi-format series by scoring a remarkable 343 runs in the bilateral ODI series. She hit two consecutive hundreds in the first two ODIs and narrowly missed a third century by just 10 runs in the third ODI. However, she achieved another milestone by registering her 50th white-ball half-century in that match.
Smriti is a prolific left-handed opening batter for the Women in Blue, known for her elegant stroke play and ability to dominate bowlers. In the first One Day International match in an ongoing ODI series between India and South Africa, she scored her 27th international half-century in 49 balls in the 18th over. Smriti made her T20 international debut on 5 April 2013 against Bangladesh Women during Bangladesh’s tour of India in Vadodara. She scored her first international T20 half-century on 30 November 2014 against South Africa Women during their tour of India in Bengaluru, where she scored 52 runs off just 42 balls at a strike rate of 123.80. To date, she has scored 23 fifties in a total of 133 T20 international matches.
In ODIs, Smriti made her debut on 10 April 2013 against Bangladesh Women during their tour of India in Ahmedabad. She scored her maiden ODI half-century against Sri Lanka Women during their tour of India on 21 January 2014, scoring 51 runs off 74 balls at a strike rate of 68.91. To date, she has scored 27 half-centuries in a total of 84 ODI matches.
