Players to watch out:
Priya Punia
The 27-year-old batter, following an excellent T20 season last year which saw her amass 427 runs in 7 games, was roped back into the senior national setup for the series against Bangladesh earlier this year. However, she failed to make a mark in 2 appearances. In 3 domestic game appearances this season, Priya has only managed 52 runs and has some crucial games ahead.
Parunika Sisodia
The 18-year-old off-spinner has emerged as the strike bowler for the side, and in the early part of this domestic season, she’s been very impressive. Parunika, in 3 games, has taken 6 wickets and will be counted on to carry forward this momentum and deliver many more top spells.
Jenita Fernandes
The 25-year-old keeper-batter has kicked off her domestic season on the right foot, scoring 61 runs from 3 games. Jenita has a 50 to her name and will draw a lot of confidence from the knock. She will want to carry forward this momentum and continue delivering the goods.
Renuka Chaudhari
The 25-year-old all-rounder has been the strike bowler for the side this season, and in 3 games, she has picked up 4 wickets thus far. Renuka hasn’t yet contributed much with the bat, but while she’s been bowling well, it’ll be hoped that she takes confidence from her bowling and also adds a few good scores to her name.
Pitch:
The 22 yards at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, provides a balanced playing surface, one that caters to both batters and bowlers. Although it favors the batters, the average score remains in the 100s, with assistance available for spinners to exploit.
Weather:
Cuttack promises ideal conditions for a game of cricket with a partly cloudy overhead and a very low chance of rain. The temperature is expected to hover around 31°C with light winds and a humidity level of 63%.
Fantasy playing XI:
Jenita Fernandes, Priya Punia, Simran Patel, Shweta Sehrawat, Renuka Chaudhari, Ayushi Soni, Ekta Bhadana, Parunika Sisodia, Muskan Vasava, Krutikaben Chaudhari, Janviben Patel
