Players to watch out:

Nuzhat Parween

The 27-year-old keeper-batter made it to the top but failed to seize her opportunity. Nuzhat has had a few good seasons, and in the previous edition of the competition, averaged 40.25 and accumulated 161 runs from 6 innings, including the highest of 44*. She’ll want to start this season on the right foot and put on another consistent season.

Renuka Singh Thakur

The 27-year-old pacer has picked up 31 wickets from as many T20 Internationals at an economy rate of 6.43. After a forgetful campaign in the inaugural Women’s Premier League, she’ll take the field for the first time in the tournament. She was out of action owing to an injury, and there is a lot to look forward to when she takes the field.

Moutushi Dey

The 30-year-old all-rounder in the previous edition chipped in scoring 102 runs from 6 innings, including a 52, while also striking a couple of wickets. Moutushi will want to grow in her role and she’ll look to build on the season she had last year.

Puja Das

The 19-year-old rookie impressed last season, picking up 12 wickets from 7 games and finishing as the leading wicket-taker for the side and 4th overall. Puja was also selected in the East Zone for the InterZonal T20s but wasn’t given enough game time. She has a huge task at hand this season to prove she’s more than just a one-season wonder.

Pitch:

The Greenfield International Stadium is a challenging venue for batters, as spinners, in particular, play a vital role in any team’s success. Teams have to be prepared to grind out a win in what is likely to be a low-scoring match.

Weather:

With showers forecasted throughout the match duration, there is a possibility of rain playing spoilsport and potentially resulting in a washout. The temperature is expected to be around 29°C, with light winds and humidity of 78%.
