Squads:

Scotland – Kathryn Bryce (C), Olivia Bell, Sarah Bryce, Darcey Carter, Priyanaz Chatterji, Maryam Faisal, Lorna Jack, Ailsa Lister, Abtaha Maqsood, Megan McColl, Hannah Rainey, Niamh Robertson-Jack, Nayma Sheikh, Ellen Watson

Ireland – Laura Delany (C), Ava Canning, Alana Dalzell, Georgina Dempsey, Amy Hunter, Arlene Kelly, Gaby Lewis, Louise Little, Joanna Loughran, Sophie MacMahon, Cara Murray, Leah Paul, Orla Prendergast, Freya Sargent, Rebecca Stokell

Players to watch out:

Darcey Carter

The 18-year-old all-rounder, on debut in the opener, departed cheaply for 4 but impressed with the ball, registering figures of 2/47, and will be banked on to carry forward this momentum. Darcey has accumulated 173 runs, including the highest of 53*, from 9 Twenty20 Internationals and has taken 13 wickets from 10 bowling outings, making her a proven cricketer.

Kathryn Bryce

The 25-year-old all-rounder left a lasting impression, scoring a fine 78 on debut in the series opener and finishing with bowling figures of 0/14 (4). Kathryn, with 971 runs and 36 wickets to her name from only 38 T20Is, has built a reputation as a consistent performer and will want to replicate the same success in the long format.

Laura Delany

The 30-year-old all-rounder in ODIs, in 50 outings, has racked up 971 runs and also taken 24 wickets from 34 bowling innings. Laura didn’t have the best of starts to the series, departing for a duck in the opener; however, she went on to produce bowling figures of 2/23 (8). While it’ll be expected of her to continue this bowling form, runs off the blade will remain crucial.

Georgina Dempsey

The 19-year-old bowling all-rounder, in 12 ODIs, has picked up 11 wickets while also chipping in with the bat, scoring 84 runs. Georgina’s best with the bat is an unbeaten 45, and the team will want her to step up, especially during a batting collapse. She had a good game in the opener, registering figures of 2/25 (8.2), and must look to capitalize on this form.

Pitch:

With an average score in the 190s, the 22 yards at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground make up a well-balanced pitch that offers a fair contest between bat and ball. However, bowlers certainly have the upper hand, and batters who have spent sufficient time in the middle benefit, as scoring becomes easier.

Weather:

The conditions are favorable for a game of cricket at the Desert Springs Cricket Ground with partly cloudy skies, strong winds, and a humidity level of 55%. The temperature is expected to range in the mid-20s, and the likelihood of rain is minimal.
