The captain of Ireland was the top run getter of the match, as she smashed a brilliant 61 off 43 balls, hitting eight boundaries. The right hand top order bat guided her team to get to a competitive score of 160-6 at the end of 20 overs.

Lara Maritz (Ireland):

The right arm seamer was the pick of the bowlers for Ireland as she scalped 3-13 in her three overs, picking up two wickets in one over. All the three wickets that she accounted for were bowled.

Frederique Overdijk (Netherlands): The right-hand opening bat scored 19 runs but those came off 38 balls. Though she struggled to make a mark with the bat, she had a good day with the ball. The right-arm quick picked up 2-24 in her four overs.

Miranda Veringmeier (Netherlands): The right-hand middle-order bat was the top scorer for the Netherlands as she hammered 33 off just 15 balls, hitting five boundaries and a six. She was fluent with the bat and at one stage she looked to take the game away from Ireland.

Weather conditions

It is a 4pm (local) start at The Village in Dublin. There is a very high chance of rain playing a spoilsport in today’s game as there is a close to 80% chance of precipitation between 4pm and 8pm. Pitch

It is a good cricketing wicket. The previous game saw close to 300 runs being scored. Though there is a lot for batters, it is a good wicket to bowl on as well, provided the bowler’s pitch in right lines and lengths. 13 wickets fell in the previous T20I between Ireland and Netherlands at this venue, out of which the pacers accounted for 8 wickets and spinners for 5 wickets.
