Players to watch out:
Alice Ikuzwe
Alice’s stats comprise diverse abilities, all scaling in the upward direction. With a batting average getting better by the day and a stunning economy rate she is destined to deliver in the matches to come. Up until now, there has not been major contributions from the 24-year-olds side, but time is all it takes to accelerate. A notable performance in the tournament so far is her immaculate (3/3) against Nigeria.
Margueritte Vumiliya
30-year-old Margueritte has a great depth of experience which positively aids the Rwanda setup. With 50 wickets on the international stage at an economy of 4.14 and an average of 12.74, she has delivered on multiple occasions. In the ongoing Kwibuka Tournament, she maintained a spectacular economy rate, in addition to which, she’d be looking to be amongst the wickets more often than not.
Thapelo Modise
22-year-old Modise is a player seen rising to the occasion in the recent past. Her magnificent 61* against Kenya in 2022, threw light on her expanded capabilities. The right-hand batter hasn’t quite hit it off in the tournament yet, with a string of single-digit scores. The coming games will be crucial for her to fire and by bringing in her game. She’s known immensely well for the elegant stroke play she displays.
Laura Mophakedi
25-year-old right-handed batter Mophakedi has been on the rise in recent years. Getting off to good starts is her thing, but continuing to show grit on the crease to make it big is what she has lacked at times. With 376 runs on the international stage and an improving batting index, Botswana will rely on her for quick run-making abilities at the top of the order.
Pitch:
A well-balanced track with a slight advantage for the batters. But it’s only a matter of hitting the right lengths for the bowlers and restricting their counterparts to a lower total.
Weather:
Comfortable playing conditions are forecasted, with temperatures hovering around mid-20 degrees and no possible chance of rain. Although it will remain overcast for a major part of the day.
