Group C: Round VI – Captain Sravanthi Naidu’s all-round performance helps Hyderabad beat Mumbai – Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2019

Match: Hyderabad vs Mumbai

Venue: Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana, Kandivali, Mumbai

Date: 22 October 2019

Mumbai batted first against Hyderabad. Opener Vrushali Bhagat played the anchor role as wickets kept falling at the opposite end. She had a brief partnership with Sayali Satghare who departed after scoring 22 runs off 24 balls. After Bhagat was run out in the 16th over making 37 off 40, the other batters couldn’t contribute much. Mumbai was all out in the penultimate ball of the game scoring 94 runs. Gongadi V Trisha of Hyderabad scalped 3 wickets while captain Sravanthi Naidu took 2.

Hyderabad started off well with both of its openers playing good knocks. Ramya Doli was run out while she was on 28 off 31 and captain Naidu did not find a stable partner after that. Sravanthi played a captain’s knock – scoring 52 runs in 63 balls when her team was in a difficult position as Mumbai managed to take frequent wickets. But she remained not out and took the game deep to chase the target in the final over. Hyderabad made 96/6 in 19.3 overs.

Result: Hyderabad won by 4 wickets.
