Group E: Round VI – Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Bengal, and Goa obtain victories – Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2019
Match 1: Arunachal Pradesh vs Delhi
Venue: SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground, Rajkot
Arunachal Pradesh batted first in the 95th game of the tournament. They did not have a very good outing on the field as wickets kept falling. They lost 8 wickets and made 41 runs in 20 overs. The highest score was 9 which was made by opener Neelam Rajput and number 7 batter Nabam Yapu.
It was an easy win for Delhi as they chased the target in the 6th over itself. After opener Neha Bhargava was run out when she was on 13(11), Ayushi Soni 16(17) and Jyoshi Nain 8(8) saw the team through.
Result: Delhi won by 9 wickets.
Match 2: Saurashtra vs Tamil Nadu
Venue: AOC Ground, Secunderabad
Saurashtra batted first with openers Jayshree Jadeja 19(26) and Pooja Nimavat 28(47) starting well. Neha Chavda also made 28 runs in 19 balls. Saurashtra made 97 runs losing 6 wickets at the end of the innings. Ramyashri Prasad of Tamil Nadu had a 3 wicket haul.
Tamil Nadu chased the total in 19 overs. Opener Niranjana Nagarajan made 23 runs in 34 balls while captain Hemalatha D Dayalan contributed 39 runs to the team’s successful chase. Reena Dabhi of Saurashtra scalped 3 wickets.
Results: Tamil Nadu won by 4 wickets.
Match 3: Bengal vs Maharashtra
Venue: SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground, Rajkot
It was a thriller of a game as Bengal met Maharashtra for the Round VI match at Rajkot. Captain Anuja Patil of Maharashtra steered the innings as they batted first. She remained not out scoring 55 runs in 40 balls. Maharashtra made 107/4 in 20 overs.
When Bengal batted, it was Rumeli Dhar 27(26) and Mandira Mahapatra 31(30) who scored the most of the runs. Gouher Sultana and Paramita Roy took the team over the line in the last over of the match.
Result: Bengal won by 4 wickets.
Match 4: Mizoram vs Goa
Venue: AOC Ground, Secunderabad
Mizoram made 79 runs while batting first. Ruchita Buley 18(30) and captain Apurwa Bhardwaj 24(36) helped Mizoram reach 79/5 at the end of the 20 overs.
Goa had a brisk start while chasing. Opener Shreya Parab made an unbeaten 45 off 37. After Purvaja Verlekar got stumped on 18(22), captain Sanjula Naik 11(12) saw the team through. Goa chased the target in 12 overs losing 1 wickets.
Result: Goa won by 9 wickets.
