Group E: Round V – Anuja Patil, Umesh Yadav, and Rumeli Dhar shine as Maharashtra, Delhi and Bengal get wins – Senior Women’s T20 Trophy 2019.

Match 1: Bengal vs Tamil Nadu

Venue: AOC Ground, Secunderabad

Tamil Nadu on batting first, set a target of 73 for Bengal. Captain Hemalatha D Dayalan made 17 runs off 24 balls. Eloksi A Arun 13(22) and Anusha S Sundaresan 19(21) also contributed to the scoreboard. Tamil Nadu got bowled out in the 18th over scoring 72.

Bengal started well with the bat. The openers built a good partnership with Antara Jana 15(15) and Gayatri Mal 16(33) scoring freely. Rumeli Dhar top scored with 31 runs off 32 runs remaining not out. Keerthana S Balakrishnan of Tamil Nadu bowled wonderfully. She had a 3-wicket haul and gave only 7 runs in her 4 over spell. Bengal chased the target in 17 overs.

Result: Bengal won by 5 wickets.

Match 2: Delhi vs Goa

Venue: SCA Stadium Khanderi B Ground, Rajkot

Captain Reema Malhotra made 13(23) as Delhi batted first. The top scorer for the side was Umesh Yadav who made a half-century. She smashed 61 runs in 50 balls. Ayushi Soni too contributed with her 30 off 32. Delhi finished on 126/5.

In the batting innings of Goa, the openers scored the bulk of the runs. Purvaja Verlekar could score only 10 runs from 19 balls before getting run-out. Shreya Parab gave hopes to her side as she plundered to her half-century. She made 58 off 50 balls while none of the other batters could score much. Lalita Sharma of Delhi scalped 4 wickets in her 4 overs while giving 11 runs. Goa scored 95 runs and bundled out in 19 overs.

Result: Delhi won by 31 runs.

Match 3: Maharashtra vs Saurashtra

Venue: AOC Ground, Secunderabad

It was a last-ball thriller between Maharashtra and Saurashtra at Secunderabad. Jayshree Bhikhubha 16(19) and captain Mridulakumari Jadeja 15(28) opened the innings for Saurashtra. Wicketkeeper Riddhi Ruparel’s knock of 23 runs in 32 balls was the highest score of the innings. Krishna Dilip Anovadia 18(17) and Reena Dabhi 13(11) also contributed to the scorecard. From Maharashtra, it was the experienced captain Anuja Patil who led the bowling unit. She obtained a 3 wicket haul in her 4 overs. Saurashtra finished on 102/6.

Maharashtra were chasing a modest total and opener Mukta Magre made 31 in 41 balls. After a series of wickets, it was captain Patil again who stabilized the innings with her 25(29). Reena Mota of Saurashtra took 3 wickets. Maharashtra chased the target in the last ball of the innings finishing on 103/6.

Result: Maharashtra won by 4 wickets.
