After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Netherlands Women posted 139/8 in their 20 overs. Captain Babette de Leede led the way with a well-made 50 off 45 balls, hitting five boundaries. Heather Siegers scored 16 off 13 balls, while Phebe Molkenboer made 11 from just 7 deliveries. However, both openers were dismissed early, leaving the Netherlands at 36/2 inside five overs.

Sterre Kalis struggled to get going and scored 4 from 5 balls, while Robine Rijke added 13 off 14 deliveries. Sanya Khurana managed only 1 run from 4 balls as Bangladesh continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals. Frederique Overdijk contributed 9 off 9 balls before being run out, while Caroline de Lange made 1 from 4 deliveries. Towards the end, Iris Zwilling remained unbeaten on 13 from 11 balls and Silver Siegers finished not out on 10 from 8 balls, helping the Netherlands post 139/8, a total that gave their bowlers something to work with but left little room for error.

Bangladesh’s bowling performance was disciplined throughout the innings. Marufa Akter was the most successful bowler with figures of 2/31 from her four overs. Fariha Trisna, Rabeya Khan, Ritu Moni and Sanjida Akter Meghla claimed one wicket each, while the fielders also supported well with two run-outs.

Bangladesh began the chase positively as Juairiya Ferdous and Dilara Akter put together a strong opening partnership of 67 runs. Juairiya played the innings of the match, scoring 50 from only 33 balls, including seven fours and two sixes. She reached her half-century in just 32 deliveries and put the Netherlands bowlers under pressure from the start.

Dilara provided good support with 26 from 23 balls. After the opening stand was broken, Bangladesh suffered a brief setback when captain Nigar Sultana was dismissed for a duck on the very next ball. Sobhana Mostary also found scoring difficult and managed only 4 runs from 10 deliveries.

With Bangladesh at 85/4, there was still work to do, but Sharmin Akhter and Shorna Akter made sure there were no further problems. Sharmin remained unbeaten on 37 from 32 balls with four boundaries, while Shorna stayed not out on 18 from 17 deliveries. The pair added an unbeaten 56-run stand and guided Bangladesh safely across the line.

For the Netherlands, Caroline de Lange was the most successful bowler, taking 2/27 from her four overs. Silver Siegers picked up 1/24, while the rest of the bowling attack struggled to contain Bangladesh’s batters.

The result gives Bangladesh Women two valuable points in Group 1 and continues their positive start to the tournament. Netherlands Women showed fight through Babette de Leede’s half-century but were unable to defend their total as Bangladesh completed a comfortable chase to claim a six-wicket victory.
