Nensi Patel is a talented bowling all-rounder who has slowly made her place in New Zealand women’s cricket. Born in Bharuch, Gujarat, India, Nensi later moved to New Zealand and worked hard in domestic cricket before getting her chance at the international level. She is known for her accurate off-spin bowling, calm batting in the lower order, and ability to help the team in important moments.

Nensi started playing domestic cricket for Northern Districts at a very young age. She made her domestic one-day and T20 debuts during the 2016–17 season and kept improving every year. Her best domestic season came in 2021–22 when she became the highest wicket-taker in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield (HJS) with 18 wickets. During that season, she also picked up two five-wicket hauls, including brilliant bowling figures of 6/25 against Auckland.

Her strong domestic performances helped her earn her first New Zealand central contract in 2022. Even though she had to wait for her international debut, she continued working hard and finally got her chance in 2026 during New Zealand’s home series against Zimbabwe.

Her best bowling figures are 3/8, showing how effective she can be in the shorter format.

She has also scored 709 runs and even has a half-century in the format. Her all-round skills make her a useful player who can contribute in different situations.

In domestic one-day cricket, Nensi has picked up 91 wickets in 82 matches, including two five-wicket hauls. These performances helped her move into the national team setup and showed her consistency as a bowler.
