The 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 will be hosted by England and Wales from 12th June to 5th July 2026. The upcoming edition has been expanded to a 12-team tournament, from a 10-team contest in the previous edition.
The teams are divided into two groups: Group 1 and Group 2, each with six teams. Group 1 consists of Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, India and Pakistan. Group 2 includes England, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Ireland, the West Indies, and Scotland.
The White Ferns, under the leadership of Sophie Devine, claimed their maiden ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa, led by skipper Laura Wolvaardt, by 32 runs in the final on 20th October 2024 in Dubai in the 9th edition played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), hosted by Bangladesh. As a result, the White Ferns, under the new leadership of Amelia Kerr, will be entering the 10th edition as the defending champions of the tournament.
Nat Sciver-Brunt’s England on 28th April (Tuesday) became the first team to name their squad for the mega event, followed by Amelia Kerr’s White Ferns on 29th April 2026 (Wednesday). Harmanpreet Kaur’s India will be the 3rd team to do so on 2nd May 2026 (Saturday).
The hosts, England, led by skipper Nat Sciver-Brunt, will be up against Sri Lanka, led by skipper Chamari Athapaththu, in the tournament opener on 12th June 2026 (Friday), at Edgbaston, Birmingham, from 11 PM IST.
