The Sunrisers Leeds skipper Danielle Gibson won the toss and opted to field first. The London Spirit openers Grace Harris and the wicket-keeper batter Amy Jones capitalised on the opportunity to put the runs on the board. The pair stitched a massive 67-run opening stand to set the platform for a strong total.

Skipper Danielle Gibson took matters into her own hands to break the stand by sending the wicket-keeper batter Amy Jones (24 off 20 balls) in the 8th set of the innings to provide the much-needed 1st breakthrough for her side. Marie Kelly joined Grace Harris at the crease, and the duo took the Spirit closer to the 100-run mark with another crucial 24-run stand for the 2nd wicket.

Hannah Baker got the big scalp of an ominous Grace Harris (51 off 27 balls) in the very first set, the 11th of the game, after a brief rain delay to provide the much-needed 2nd breakthrough for the home side. She completed an impressive half-century before getting dismissed. The Danielle Gibson-led side pulled things back brilliantly, not allowing the London Spirit to regain momentum in their innings.
