Amanda-Jade Wellington, Maddy Villiers, and Paige Scholfield combine to take Oval Invincibles back to winning ways

Manchester Originals led by skipper Sophie Ecclestone were all set to face Oval Invincibles led by skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill at Old Trafford, Manchester in the 18th match of the season.

Manchester Originals skipper Sophie Ecclestone won the toss and opted to bat first. Manchester Originals openers Laura Wolvaardt and Beth Mooney got their side off to a solid start with a 50-run opening stand. Ryana MacDonald-Gay picked up the wicket of Beth Mooney to provide the first breakthrough for Oval Invincibles.

Evelyn Jones joined Laura Wolvaardt at the crease and the duo stitched another crucial 21-run partnership for the 2nd wicket to put their side in a solid position. Amanda-Jade Wellington picked up the wicket of Laura Wolvaardt to provide the 2nd breakthrough for her side. Emma Lamb soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the third breakthrough for Oval Invincibles.

Kathryn Bryce joined Evelyn Jones at the crease and the duo stitched a 14-run partnership for the 4th wicket to take their side close to the 100-run mark. Amanda-Jade Wellington came back and picked up the wicket of Evelyn Jones to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side. Manchester Originals eventually ended up with a total of 125/4 in their quota of 100 deliveries.

Alice Monaghan picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill to provide the first breakthrough for Manchester Originals. Oval Invincibles lost a couple of wickets in quick succession.

Paige Scholfield joined Marizanne Kapp at the crease and the duo took their side over the line with a 67-run partnership for the 4th wicket. Oval Invincibles sealed the game with seven wickets in hand and seven balls to spare. Paige Scholfield (48 off 27 balls), Chamari Athapaththu (33 off 36 balls), Marizanne Kapp (19 off 11 balls), and skipper Lauren Winfield-Hill (20 off 15 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Oval Invincibles.

Alice Monaghan (10-6-7-2), Kim Garth (15-8-20-0), Lauren Filer (15-8-20-0), and Kathryn Bryce (18-4-28-1) were the top performers with the ball for Manchester Originals. Paige Scholfield was awarded the Player of the Match for her counter-attacking innings (48 off 27 balls) with the bat for her side. She played a crucial role in helping her side get back to winning ways.
